Cleaning plant for moulds of functional shoes – energy-efficient and reliable
HAIX is one of the most innovative and successful high-tech footwear manufacturers in the world. A vapic system for cleaning aluminium moulds for the production of functional footwear was recently installed at the Mala Subotica site in Croatia. This system removes release agents and polyurethane residues gently and non-abrasively so that the moulds remain functional for a long time. An ultrasonic cleaning system from the manufacturer Walter Ultraschalltechnik is used in the system. A strong flow around the mould also ensures optimum cleaning results. The batch size of the system is 1,500 x 300 x 480 mm. We also supply the chemicals, which have low labelling and are not classified as hazardous goods according to ADR. The solvent is processed within the system using an extremely energy-efficient distillation process.
Sebastian Knoch, Production Systems Technician at HAIX, comments on the decision in favour of vapic: ‘Sustainability and quality play a crucial role for us at HAIX. As a manufacturer of high-quality functional footwear and workwear, it is important to us to implement our values from start to finish along the entire value chain. For these reasons, we decided in favour of vapic. By switching from the compressed air process to the new mould cleaning system, we were able to reduce energy consumption by 40 percent. At the same time, we have doubled our cleaning performance and made the workplace more ergonomic for our employees. All this, combined with excellent availability and service readiness, makes vapic a reliable partner.’
We would like to thank them for the trust they have placed in us and look forward to working with them in the future.
